Second Skin is dynamic and original physical theater, created and performed by Dell’Arte Founding Artistic Director Joan Schirle and directed by Dell'Arte Associate Artistic Director Giulio Cesare Perrone. Second Skin uses the magic of masks and the wit and talent of a master performer to transport the audience on an all-soul's journey to the threshold of the afterlife.

Ms. Schirle introduces the audience to a group of 15 unforgettable characters, all connected to a young woman who believes she possesses the living soul of Marilyn Monroe. With movement, music, masks, dance and her ability to voice young and old, male and female, trashy and wise, Schirle embodies the arts of the total performer. Audiences and critics have described Joan Schirle’s Second Skin as inspiring, funny, beautiful, stunning, moving, magical and a tour de force.
Ms. Schirle has received international acclaim for her performances, as well as her work as a playwright and director. Based in Blue Lake, California, the Dell'Arte Company is one of the few actormanaged ensembles in the US, and has
an international reputation for its touring performances and professional school, the Dell'Arte International School of Physical Theatre.
